A customer located in Market Hill, Woodbridge, contacted our customer service team requesting a quote for the installation of carpets throughout his Grade II listed building. As his property was positioned above both commercial and retail premises, one of the main problems he was experiencing was the noise interference his property from the activities occurring below.
We arranged a suitable time to visit and discuss his needs in more detail, presenting us with the opportunity to take a closer look at the scale of the job required. The customer’s main concern was improving the sound insulation to improve his quality of life at home, while still maintaining a warm and comfortable feel to the room. He also mentioned he had previously used soundproofing underlay in a commercial property.
We took note of the underlay product the customer had used and entered into discussions with the manufacturer regarding installation. This was not a product we had used before but the information supplied to us by the manufacturing company enabled us to proceed and use it as part of the project.
Where we would usually create a floor perimeter of between 8-9mm, on this occasion we decided 15mm would ensure there was a smoother transition between the underlay and carpet. This formed a clear and tidy finish to the skirting board, adding a great finishing touch to the flooring.
The customer was extremely happy with our work, which not only reduced the noise inside his property but ensured the finish was fitting for a Grade II listed building.
Our work at Market Hill was a project we are particularly proud of as we met the full details of the customer’s specifications and by going the extra mile to ensure the floor was fully prepared, the carpet finish suited the building design perfectly. Here are some of our installation pictures to show you how we completed the job.
